Under a bridge, two solitudes found each other: a cat and a dog. They slept huddled together, warming one another

Beneath the bridge, Tim the cat and Bim the dog had met. They had made their home here for some time, managing to survive the winter together by sleeping intertwined for warmth. Both had been rejected by their owners; the dog was abandoned first, followed by the cat.

Bim wandered alone until one day, the cat approached, rubbing against his paw and letting out a «meow».

Bim understood that the cat wanted them to stick together. And so began their life in tandem.

Tim proved to be affectionate, often rubbing against Bim’s paw, recognizing him as the leader and following wherever the dog chose to go. They were often seen trudging along the road, sniffing at every trash bin. If Tim lagged behind, Bim would wait for him.

  • Bim had lived most of his life in hunger, unlike the cat.
  • Tim could always catch a bird or a mouse.

However, when Bim found a discarded bone, it was wise for Tim to stay away. Bim would quietly growl, signaling to the cat that the bone was his and he intended to eat it alone.

This is how the two loners lived.

Once, someone tried to take Tim off the streets, but to no avail. The animals no longer trusted humans, unable to forgive the betrayal. And so, they continued their existence under the bridge.
