Once in Georgia, rescue workers received an anonymous tip about an unusual animal tied up in the yard of a residential house — possibly a dog or something similar. Deciding to investigate, the rescuers arrived at the specified location and were met with a shocking sight.
The dog chained to the tree turned out to be a pitbull, but there was hardly anything left of the purebred animal — it was so emaciated that its bones were literally showing through its skin. The owners, visibly depressed and clearly under the influence of substances, were also present at the scene.
They had even named their dog Cocaine and had kept it in horrific conditions for four years.

- By breed standards, an adult pitbull should weigh about 10-13 kg, but this unfortunate one weighed only 5 kg.
Moreover, it suffered from numerous illnesses due to poor nutrition and care, and the chain had been so tight that it had left scars and abrasions on its neck.
Veterinarians enthusiastically began treating the dog, hoping to restore it to a healthy state. It required a lot of time, effort, and resources, but eventually, the dog was able to find a new owner.
Now his name is Hero, in honor of everything he endured while remaining kind and loyal.
He now lives in a new, spacious home and goes outside only for walks, enjoying the life he deserves.
