The dog was roaming the streets in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh when it encountered a little animal. The young one was helplessly floundering near a lake, prompting the dog to take it under its care.
- The distressed animal turned out to be a small monkey.
- It had been separated from its mother too early, and there was no doubt humans were responsible – the animal wore a collar.
Instinctively, the dog knew the animal wouldn’t survive on the streets alone, so it decided to help. The dog allowed the monkey to climb onto its back, then carried it to seek aid. They ended up at the police station by chance, but it turned out to be a fortunate accident.
Photos taken by the police show the monkey clinging tightly to the dog’s back, while the canine simply wagged its tail.
At the station, the dog left the monkey in the care of the officers, but thanks to the photos taken by the people there, both animals quickly became real internet heroes.
The police offered the monkey a banana and called a wildlife service. Experts took the young monkey and planned to eventually release it back into the wild.
