For the second night, the dog slept on the snow next to the warm kennel. It turns out it wasn’t without reason

Caesar’s owners built a sturdy, warm kennel in their yard. They crafted the wooden house with insulation to ensure the dog stayed warm even during the coldest days. Andrew, who loved his pet dearly, spared no effort or materials in constructing the kennel.

Andrew took pride in his handiwork, especially since it was his first time building anything like it.

The kennel turned out beautifully, and Caesar loved it.

  • As winter set in, Caesar spent most of his time in the cozy kennel, only venturing outside when absolutely necessary.
  • The dog’s presence was often only indicated by the tip of his nose peeking out from the warm shelter.

One day, Andrew was surprised to see Caesar sleeping on the snow. When the dog heard his owner, he quickly stood up, pretending he had just come outside for a walk. However, Caesar’s sleepy and cold appearance gave him away.

«You’ll catch a cold like this,» Andrew scolded. «No more sleeping outside!»

Caesar’s understanding gaze reassured Andrew, who thought the matter was settled. But the next morning, Caesar was again found lying on the snow, clearly having spent the entire night outside.

Puzzled, Andrew decided to inspect the kennel while Caesar was eating. Inside, he found a cat and her two tiny kittens. The cat looked at him warily but did not try to run or hide.

Andrew carefully moved the cat and her kittens to the veranda. While the kennel was warm, it was designed for a large dog and not suitable for small kittens.

Besides, sleeping outside was not beneficial for Caesar.

The cat was not pleased with Andrew’s intervention. She hissed and scratched as he tried to move her kittens. Despite getting several scratches, Andrew managed to place them on a mattress on the veranda. The cat, once in the warmth, immediately began grooming her kittens. She accepted food and water from Andrew but refused to be petted.

Caesar watched anxiously as his owner removed the cats from his kennel. He ran back and forth, glancing between Andrew and the cat until he was allowed onto the veranda to ensure his new friends were safe. Satisfied that the kittens were in good hands, Caesar happily returned to his kennel.

As the kittens grew, Andrew found a new home for one of them, while the other stayed with him. The mother cat, unable to adapt to indoor life, left once her kittens no longer needed her.

She occasionally returned to the yard to check on her remaining kitten and visit Caesar, who had helped her during a difficult time.

Caesar became a wonderful nanny for the kitten. The little one enjoyed spending time in the kennel with Caesar, clearly considering it his home and the dog his family.
